The initial purpose of my Art is to try and deliver a painting that is strong in composition and subject choice. From there I try to adhere to traditional drawing by accurately representing the tone and light source depicted by the subject. I then strive to harmonise the painting through either a naturalist or expressionist use of colour. Careful consideration of textures, edges and brush work also come in for consideration as I work through the painting. Use of detail is minimal and just enough is added to try and draw attention to the viewers eye.

My training in Art to date has come from attending night courses at NCAD and the Drawing studio in Dublin. I have also received private tutoring from David Nolan.(www.davidnolan.com)

My favourite places to paint are Venice, Switzerland and Dublin. My future aim is to continue to paint these places while at the same time improving my skill and use of colour.
